There are things that you love to do and there are things that you have to do. In-Home Test Kits can help give you more time for the things that you love to do! Blue Cross Medicare Advantage members may be eligible for in-home test kits for preventive screenings that could help catch a small health problem before it becomes a bigger one.
What are in-home test kits?
They are kits that can be mailed to your home. You complete the screening and return to a lab by mail.
What types of in-home test kits are there?
There are certain screenings that can be done in the privacy and comfort of your home, based on your needs and eligibility. A few examples are:
Follow the directions and securely mail your sample to the lab in the labeled return kit. Results will be shared with you and your doctor, if your doctor is on file. Your doctor may then reach out to you with any follow-up screenings or treatment, if needed. Or, you may wish to follow up with your own doctor.
Who can participate?
This depends on a few things:
Your Blue Cross Medicare Advantage Plan will send you an in-home test kit if you are eligible for a screening. You may not be eligible to participate if you’re already up-to-date on your screenings.
Why are these screenings important?
Some diseases do not present any symptoms, so following a routine screening schedule is important for early diagnosis and treatment. Early detection is key to staying healthy. Based on unique care needs, you may be able to get multiple screenings at home.
Also, if you’re registered for the Rewards and Incentives program*, you could earn rewards for certain screenings, up to $100 each year!
