3 cups skim or non-dairy milk5 3/4 cups old fashioned oatmeal, dry1 cup water1 cup orange juice1 cup granulated sugar1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract6 each whole cloves or star anise2 teaspoons orange zest3 pounds (about 8 medium) orange, peeled and sectioned1 cup plain nonfat Greek yogurt
Pro tip: Consider doubling the recipe and use half your compote at breakfast and half at suppertime. Orange vanilla compote would also pair well with savory dishes like bone-in chicken or roasted pork loin
